Hi, I'm Aaron Bauer, known in game as Mossellia Delt, Medrean Delt and Moselder Telend. I'm running for CPM1. I'v been playing this game since early chromozone (the open beta). I'm an easy to get a hold of person and to get along with. As Fox Gaden has stated, im not a person of "flowery speeches", I wont bore you with my life story.

Heres just some of the issues and objects I would like to work with CCP and the Community towards ;

NPE improvements, ISD establishment, CCP and Community communication and relationship improvement, CPM and community relationship improvement, balancing, and pushing for the possibility of client side updates.(no matter how remote that may be)

In closing, I'd like to have anyone who wants to talk with me send me ingame mail to Mossellia Delt (this character), contact me in game to squad up on any three of my characters (Im in the CPM1 Candidates chat IN GAME, or to contact me on Skype; Moss-Delt. I also look forward to awnser any questions you have for me in this thread.

Do you have any experience that would fit perfectly with a spot on the CPM, such as a leadership position?

In game I've been the director of my corperation for over a year and three months. Out of game I have worked on alpha and beta testing groups. I don't think of myself as a leader per say but more as an advisor. I don't want to rule over anyone, but be the voice of the people like a true council person should be. I've always been a voice of reason and a realist in real life for my friends and family.

I'm a firm believer that in any competitive video game, the best experience a new player can have in acclimating themselves to the concepts and mechanics of a game resides in a comprehensive single player experience.

is PVE important in your agenda to advising improvements to the NPE experience?

why or why not?

Whether or not I believe pve will help npe is irrelevant since CCP has stated at this time that dust 514 is not going to be receiving it. Instead I think we should look for other values to bolster npe is workable ways. A better academy system, the ISD by means of a STAR like program or better match making tools are avenues I think we should be looking towards for the near future.

well I assumed you all would also be involved in legion... to my knowledge the dust cpm would simply extend themselves to legion during its development... am I wrong about this?

if not, this is where my question stems from... if you will be working closely with the devs in legion development, where pve will be, how will you help to influence development to make sure npe is enriched through pve? or would you even?

or are you only going to concern yourself with dust?

as far as npe in dust goes, you mention matchmaking, I believe ccp once tried to institute matchmaking, and unfortuneatly it failed.
what kind of match making would you want implemented in such a low pop game that wouldn't have any particular demographic of player waiting exorbitant amounts of time just to get in a match?

Until we have further information, the cpm1 will have very limited interaction with legion. Remember, it currently is not even green lit. I have always wanted pve through drones and planetary exploration and I believe the best way of having a npe in pve is security space which CCP has already talked about doing.

On the matter of dust, I find it frustrating with the low player base to work with matchmaking as I'm sure CCP does. I believe matchmaking should add max meta tiers like they plan for legion to have, using dust as an exploratory measure to see how such things will work on a larger scale. Whether or not they can do this for dust is another matter.

As a final statement on this matter, I'm here for the community, while I have my own opinions and will share them. I'm not running for myself and to push only my own ideas and would gladly hear, gather and debate options for npe in dust from the community to give to CCP as one of the main responsibilities of the CPM is to do just that, be the communities voice.

Hi Delt,
You brought yourself to my attention by your post in Judge's thread with your rather snarky comment:

Quote:
Judge, is the dodging of this question because you have nothing else to offer? If so, why not just admit it instead of dancing a show.

So i've read your thread here and also been skimming through your older post in the council chambers. Unfortunately from what i can see you seem to be happy enough being snarky to other candidates but then you dodge questions yourself with vague answers. Granted this is mainly in your other thread and not here.

Other thread: https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1711597#post1711597

What i couldn't help notice though was the way you started throwing the Non Disclosure-Agreement around that you maintain you have. You used this to not answer some feasible questions yet i can't help feel that this is a veiled lie.

Now i don't want to misunderstand what's going on with you, so i was hoping you could clarify and set me straight on this.. as if i have a tainted view of you, i'd rather know the truths than pass you off as trying to win a popularity contest by trying to smear others while doing the same things you accuse others of yourself.

So
1) Can you tell us why an exteneral NDA even needed to be mentioned in the first place?

2) You mentioned you worked in the games industry and that's where your NDA comes into it.. who did you work for, and what games have you had published?

3) You say you 'know your stuff' a lot, but what exactly does that mean, what is 'stuff'? The name of skills and abilities, or tasks which have been done in the public domain are not protected by NDA's.

You avoided this question by Jaysyn Larrisen by hiding behind the NDA you keep throwing around too (I don't see how an NDA would get in the way of interactions):
4) What level of interaction would you like to establish between the CPM and CSM?

Essentially we'd just appreciate knowing some truths behind claims you make, transparency is important in things like this, or literally anyone could post anything and say anything. So some clarity would be appreciated.

On another note.. it's good to see you focusing on new player experience, as that is something that i also believe is critical to a games longetivity.

The other thing i'm sure we'd all also like to know is what your plan is for reaching out to the community. You say that you want to be a voice for the community, so beyond the emails and channel, do you have anything else planned to help consolidate the gathering of player feedback?

Cheers.

Hey dude, glad you are running, we should gang sometime soon!

I have a couple questions,

I noticed from your OP that you state the NPE (new player experience) as being important (it is in fact your first stated objective / criteria for running.

Can you expand on what you feel right now is the right approach for the NPE? what is your opinion on the strategic positioning of Dust 514 currently? surely it is a decaying product with its successor now on the cards - what would be the purpose of the NPE? or is it perhaps something more aimed at EVE?

Let me know your thoughts here as i think this is an interesting topic of discussion for the CPM

Thanks for the question.

Looking back into dust, CCP has tried different approaches to bettering npe. We've had the academy, while it doesn't work, it can be tweaked. CCP has tried to better matchmaking, while it doesn't work well currently it can be improved and tweaked and they have stated they will take another approach to it for legion. The tutorial could be worked on as well, changed from a long text format to something else.
But my idea to fix NPE is different and doesn't involve a lot of back end or a lot of coding changes. Instead I believe npe could be significantly improved by a STAR program like EVE has.

STAR for those who don't know is a division of the ISD or Interstellar Services Department, a group of community volunteers who help out with different issues. STAR itself helps with player support which I believe would be a huge boost to the new players experience. The best part of implementing the ISD in dust, is that the ground work is there for Legion. Its a transferable system.

Whoops, I'll get on those.

Edit in response.

1) I should never of mentioned it.
2) I'd been an indie dev (the game never left prealpha stages) but my NDA never covered that. After that, I was a tester and tested a game for the company turbine, which is who I signed an NDA for.
3) 'stuff' relates to my work next to a dev team, all the small and large things I've picked up in my life related to video games.
4) a working relationship of course, biweekly - monthly meeting of the minds. This is of course if CCP is fine with us communicating in such a way.

On the note of feedback.
I have my in game mail, I have the forums, Skype and the chat channels in game. I will be setting up an out of game email if I get elected as well for this purpose.

Should the need arise, I can create a thread or a Skype group to gather specific feedback.

Thanks for the questions.

Hey Dude!

Thanks for the replies, i really liked these comments you made here:

I am really pleased you picked out some of these issues - i feel that much of the CPM campaign so far has been quite high level and generalist, i would like to hear some more about your thoughts on what perhaps CCP could do in the next hotfix to resolve these two major issues?

Perhaps an increase again of the academy cap?

What could we do about match making? i am stumped myself on how to fix this so would be interested to know your thoughts on this.

(p.s lets gang sometimes!)

For the academy cap, I believe it should be a total SP cap set at 1 mil SP with the option to leave and come back to the academy play list at any time before the 1 million SP is acquired.

On the issue of matchmaking, I think it should have a filter. Starter SP to 1 million being academy, 1 - 10 million SP the next bracket then 10+ million being the next. I would like other players feedback on this of course though. It also raises the issue of squads with players from all SP levels. Which a thought might be rounding it off. Say 4 of the 6 are in the 1 - 10 million range, then the squad would go to that bracket. Another example would be 3 in the squad have 10+ but the others don't, then the squad goes into the 10+ bracket. This is only for pub matches.

Replying to the (PS) : I will see when we can do it. I have a super busy work week since it was a long weekend that just passed and I have to get caught up. (It was Canada day)
