[Reminder] mCRU Spawn War Points

While we're on this topic, can we actually get higher meta mCRUs? With the nerf coming to uplinks, having faster spawning mCRUs could be pretty valuable and perhaps even usable.

It's almost 2 years people asks for this...

I would like to remember to the people who belives mCRU wp should be lower than uplink and/or limited that in order to fit a mCRU you have to make considerable sacrifices in either tank or utility, so i don't feel the need to limit the mCRU or have reduced WP.

Also if there are any concerns from a balance standpoint about mCRU spawns, please still give the WP and just add a cooldown or cap on them. That can be fine tuned to the right level as needed but our vehicle support crews really do deserve to get earnings for their contributions.

There are already global limit in place, spawns take 10 seconds already so few are spawning on them at the moment, so for the time being, just add the reward and then when they implement tiers of mCRUs, then they can add timer limits and faster spawn times.


Seems solid to me. mCRUs cost SP, ISK, and CPU/PG, just like anything that a Merc is spending resources/taking on risk to field they deserve to have a robust and balanced earnings reward potential linked to their use. I hope we see WP for mCRUs coming to Dust very soon.

PS ~ If it matters to anyone I say this as an infantrymen and support Logi so more effective and used mCRUs will likely cut my own WP a bit, but I 100% they they are a good thing for the game and should be rewarded for the tactical value they're providing. I want to earn my WP for doing my job well, not by stopping players from having any other option, so again as an infantry player, please CCP give our vehicle Mercs WP for mCRU spawns, they're doing the work, they deserve the reward.

No seats no spawn. That should not even work to begin with.

No limit should be used, as most vehicles are not around long enough for it to matter.

But it should have an extended cool down after so many spawns, maybe 8? And then have an 80 second cool down.


the no seats thing is a bug that they know about.

Indeed, the cost on mCRU does take considerable PG to equip yet there is little benefit to having it.

And sense there only seems to be a standard simply add the advanced and proto with quicker spawn times to put the skill more useful past lvl 1.

as a support logi, I think mCRUs should definitely be awarded the same as uplinks. However, I agree. no seats, no spawn. I get really angry when my screen lights up and i'm being steamrolled.

This is a great idea, frankly. It encourages people to place GOOD/SAFE uplinks rather than getting points even if someone just spawns and dies on the uplink.

I like the no seats/no spawn rule for mCRUs. The only problem? What if nobody will vacate the seats once spawned. It'd tick me off if I built a non-ADS Dropship for personnel insertions with a mCRU and a bunch of clueless blue dots just camped my open seats, making it impossible to spawn more people. An eject option? Could lead to blue griefing...and result in booting blues you want to keep (gunners).

I also think there should be no spawn limit or cooldown, frankly. I run logi and I've played matches where, literally, my entire team has spawned only on my links. I have to die to throw down more links but I completely dominate the WPs for my team. If a driver/pilot can stay alive long enough to have everyone on their team spawn on their rig, I say they DESERVE the WP.

The only problem is HAVs. HAV drivers can rack up sick amounts of WPs, they don't need massive spawn WPs too. Make mCRUs basically impossible to fit on rigs with ANY main guns (ADS and HAVs) by ramping up their CPU/PG costs and then it would be completely fair.

What about if instead of being passive they turn it into an active module with a fair cooldown time therefore setting a limit in a way and like somebody had mentioned earlier, higher levels of mcru with faster spawn time depending on its level

My guess is they're going to have mcrus come with a limit as to how many spawns they will support and this is what will set apart basic from proto mobile crus, but that's the only change I can see coming to them.

It's simple, the guy who called in the vehicle with the cru is the one that gets the team respawn points, just like throwing down an uplink.
